Atheists don't proselytize and are unified only by their freethinking nonbelief in the existence of a supernatural deity. In my preferred reality, philosophers would be treated like rock stars.

I love you. I don't know anything about you except for your profile description, which so eloquently sums up my exact feelings about religion. It makes me happy to find a true thinker amongst the herds of sheep.
ReplyDeleteI'm not quite an atheist but not really a theist either. I guess I haven't found sufficient evidence to sway me one way or the other, and I don't equate belief in the existence of a God with morality or madness. However, I do very much agree with you that religion is the most horrible disease to have afflicted mankind.
I have written a candid blog entry about my experience in the church and subsequent loss of faith. I would be very interested to hear your response.
