This is the crap that anonymous Bible thumpers were handing out last night to people attending Professor Dawkin's lecture at MSU. I should have stood with them at the door with a placard that read: "STOP WASTING YOUR TIME ON A NON-EXISTENT GOD - IT IS NOT TOO LATE FOR YOUR RATIONAL SALVATION". Atheists need to start livening up these staid events.

If I would have gone and read the pamphlets, I would have gone back to christianity….ha ha, I am kidding, I would’ve made an effort to avoid laughing and respectfully written down some reading suggestions. All those arguments have been refuted many years ago. I don’t understand how they keep coming back. Can’t those bible thumpers read something else so they are aware of both sides of the arguments? Most of us atheists read the bible and christian apologetics. We don’t even need Dawkins to tell us what to believe, we can come up with our conclusions. Are those bible thumpers doing the same? I doubt it.
It's great to see that they haven't updated their argument in all these years. If there's one thing we have to give credit for, it is the religidiots ability to continuously spew the same crap without concern for evidence.
I just hope that there isn't some magical power that makes you convert to Christianity after reading the same thing 500 times - I think I'm only 2 or 3 readings away from that number.
great innit? what are they expecting, a roomful of atheists to turn around and go "my god! for blessed be he, we never thought of that! we repent! save us jesus!"?
you'd think they'd at least have the sense to stick to their easier targets (kids, animals, the elderly)
I am an American Catholic, dedicated to the reasoned and peaceful irradication of global warming (without which all other issues are or will be pretty much moot).
I would hope that atheists and theists could put aside their differences & work together to mitigate global warming.
Dr. James Hansen, top NASA climate scientist, recently said in his Bjerknes lecture at the American Geological Union that if we burn all fossil fuels we will tip the climate into runaway warming as on Venus, ending all life on planet earth.

The really dangerous beliefs people should be worrying about are the "global warming denialist" beliefs, whether they be held by atheists or theists.
Hey nihilistic! I am considered elderly, and I resemble that remark. I have discovered that there are lots of atheists who are older and retired. We can't lose our jobs over it, we have a pretty good idea of who we are, and we tend not to take crap from idiots.

Actually global warming is just another symptom of the basic problem. Overpopulation. I do not specifically point to the Catholics as I know many who are not promoting the "be fruitful and multiply" edict. However, so many different groups are practicing, hell are becoming journeymen at, profligate procreation that I fear we are doomed regardless. BTW I have no biological children but I raised three who need the other half of a parenting couple. AND NO! they do not have to be of different gender.

Robert & "Actually global warming is just another symptom of the basic problem. Overpopulation."
I agree that is part of the problem, and obviously not enough Catholics have been becoming monks, nuns, priests, and herits. However, having less children is not the sole solution to global warming, when an American child will emit 20 to 50 times more greenhouse gases than an African or Indian child.
The "overpopulation card" seems to me more a way to shift the blame to others. We ALL need to mitigate global warming, rich and poor -- the poor by improving their lives in energy/resource efficient/conservative & alt energy ways.
So let's see who can reduce their greenhouse gases the most, atheists or theists :) And I don't want finger pointing (I know about the Christian end-timers who'd perhap relish destroying the world, tho they'd get ruptured down to hell rather than raptured up to heaven); I just want to see results starting now.
We all now know we could be pushing the planet into runaway warming (see my post above). So let's get to it. See who's better, religious or atheists. And I know atheists are put down a lot & have to prove themselves more, which should perhaps give them a push to win. But if the religious see them winning, then they'd have to step up to the plate and outdo the atheists. I hope to see a neck-to-neck race on this, down to a 75% reduction in GHGs by 2015 here in the U.S., and down 30% world wide.
