Canadians often forget just how lucky we are to have our public health system. To remind ourselves, we need look no further than a recent commercial for the Cancer Treatment Centers of America: http://www.cancercenter.com/video/commercials/peggy-kessler
In my opinion, this is as low as it gets - pure bile. I wonder how the CTCA's "spiritual support" helps cure cancer and, more to the point, how many double blind trials they have performed to be able to list it along with theit treatment modalities of: surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, nutrition and "mind-body medicine" (whatever that is).
I am also comforted to know that I "have no expiration date". How the American public puts up with this crap is beyond me. I can't believe this commercial is actually running on CNN.
Of course, if you don't have luck with the CTCA, you can always try God's Answer to Cancer and treat yourself at home: http://www.gods-answer-to-cancer.com/

Tell me about it. Everytime I hear a conservative american criticize Canadian and European socialist healthcare programs, I always say "But they HAVE equal access to FREE healthcare!" I'm a college student, and I can barely afford groceries, much less an appointment with a doctor or dentist. And guess what.. I HAVE insurance. It's expensive, and as you would expect, doesn't cover shit. Hell, most students are genuinely afraid of going to the doctor under their health plan. Yeah, we get treatment if it's covered, and then... we get the bill none of us can afford.
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping the Obama administration makes healthcare a priority very soon. I hear that's the plan.
