China jails man for 3 years for giving away Bibles
Although even I think the sentence in this case is out of line, I would like to know whether the intentional infliction of mental suffering on the recipients of the Bibles was factored into the sentence: http://www.thestar.com/news/world/article/649777

The mens rea (criminal mental element) of this offence is very high. It is not mere negligence; it amounts to planned and deliberate and wilful conduct.
