Hmmmm ... Michael Jackson died around noon PST today. Has Harrah's posted the odds of a resurrection on Sunday morning? Just wondering ....

Surely there couldn't be a comeback tour? I think John Farnham has ultimate rights to that anyway.
ReplyDeleteDid you have to show a photo with a small boy?
ReplyDeleteSeriously speaking, I think MJ will go down as one of the most influential music artists in history. I would put him right up there with Elvis Presley and John Lennon. His career shows the dangers, though, of massive fame. I'm sure that, at some point, he looked in the mirror and wished he could go back to the days of "Off the Wall" and "Thriller". The endless surgeries and his isolation from reality clearly ravaged that man over the years. Still, anyone who remembers that performance at the Motown anniversary celebration, with the moon-walk and the dancing on the toes of his shoes, must realize the influence that he had on music. Few people remember that, before Jackson, MTV refused to show any black artists.
I have a feeling that da is a huge MJ fan. His death will spur padre to halt the Bible readings over the Peruvian countryside and give us more commentary. Come on, da.
If we do not hear from da by Monday, June 29, then I will declare victory on behalf of TAM and commemorate the slaughter with an invitation to one of the more regular posters on this site to take over for da. Maybe Tirian will come back to play? Perhaps Makarios wants to jump in the ring? Maybe "ALL CAPS" JORDAN?
TAM: I think you may have sunk da's battleship.
What!? Don't be ridiculous, Jackson's not going to rise from the dead. He wasn't God, like Jesus was.
ReplyDeleteThe funeral/freak show to end all freak shows. Will make Diana's look like a tea party
ReplyDeleteWhy all caps? :/
ReplyDeleteBar Bet
ReplyDeleteyou know, I've been thinking about this for a couple of weeks now. We could actually make this fly. I mean look at what L Ron Hubbard did with a bar bet... It's not inconceivable that this could be the next new religion. Seriously. How long did it actually take Jesus followers to get organized? 60 - 90 years? And with the aid of the internet that cuts the time down considerably. I know we as clever folk could really make a great “second coming” type religion. And you know if we don’t do it someone else will. AND I'm stealing your picture. :-P
