This is just another example of why I am a proud supporter of the Canadian Conservative party:

If Harper needs any ideas on what to do with the host, I would refer him to this post: http://www.atheistmissionary.com/2009/02/tom-flynn-loki-wants-to-help-you.html

Is he even a Roman Catholic? It's hard to keep up with all the revisions the RC's put into place but there are a bunch of rules for receiving the communion. I doubt he's going to pass many of them. Maybe he's aware of that.. maybe not.
I'd need a statement from Harper's office about this before it would influence my opinion of the party... Might it not be a simple faux pas? I'm not sure why this reassures your support of the Conservative Party when we aren't sure of his reasoning.
Looking more indepth, he's a Christian. Still confused by your endorsement based upon any of this..
I am not a Conservative and I'm actually kinda surprised that you are!
The endorsement is based on his strength of character - being gutsy enough not to swallow the body of Christ just because everyone around him is whether they are RC or not.
What you missed though is what happened next. As they move to the right, off camera, Stevie grabs the biscuit out of the mouth of the guy in front of him and orders the Sgt of Arms to arrest the poor guy for alarming Her Majesty! Kudos.
Seeing Harper in action previously, I highly doubt that this was calculated. I'll wait for a statement.
Jordan, Harper chose the most politically correct way of demonstrating his obvious disdain for the RC belief in transubstantiation. There will be no statement.
So you respect the move even though it comes from an Evangelical Christian?
Wouldn't the most politically correct way to handle the situation be abstaining entirely from the proceedings or crossing his arms? If he really understood the ritual I don't see how he'd come to the conclusion that taking off with the body of christ would be a good idea.
I don't see the political gain by doing what he did and I certainly don't see 'obvious' disdain.
