Texting at the wheel

Almost everyone I know would have to admit that they have occasionally (if not often) sent text messages while driving a vehicle. Well, you can now add this article to your file on "Obvious Things I Didn't Need a Scientist to Tell Me": http://www.thestar.com/news/world/article/672703

My wife and kids will be relieved to hear that I have today sworn never again to send a message from my blackberry while operating a vehicle in motion. I encourage all visitors to this site to make the same commitment.

  1. I used to text all the time while driving. Then I switched to my HTC Tilt, which is extremely difficult to operate one-handed while inputting text. I find that's helped immensely. Maybe they should just make all phones just as complicated.

Although that might result in more people driving while distracted with no hands on the wheel. So maybe that's a bad idea.

  2. I will give up texting while driving, at your impassioned plea. But beware that I often cook while driving, so stay out of my way (I drive an Escalade).
