I was dumb and now I'm dumber

Now that I am halfway through The Purpose Driven Life, I would be remiss if I didn't let you know that it is featured on the provocatively named site Booksthatmakeyoudumb: http://booksthatmakeyoudumb.virgil.gr/bookdetails.php?book=The+Purpose+Driven+Life Basically, there is a strong correlation between reading this book and lower SAT scores. As the site points out, correlation does not equal causation. However, the fact of the matter is that if you are a college student who read this book, there is a statistically significant chance that you are dumber than your average peer! Presumably that also gives us a bit of insight into the comparative intelligence of the reviewer yours truly.

  1. wow ! it seems you are quite judgmental! Christianity is THE only religion in the world that is ALL about God reaching out to man instead of MAN trying to please GOD! Who decides what is good? God puts the unexplainable in our hearts so that whether we believe or not--truth is truth.

  2. TAM - is that an actual photo of you?

@dchrist213: did you create that name after reading Warren's book? If so, then the proof of this post is in the pudding. And yes, I am a judgmental bastard as well. As are you (well maybe not the bastard part) given your insult to all other religions of the world.

  3. Correlation indeed does not equal causation. I think that the book attracts those who aren't too smart to begin with, but would probably have not long term effect on those who read it. Unless they actually convert from reading it! ;)
