I should leave more comics like this lying around the house for my kids


Hal Lindsey's There's A New World Coming. I can still remember this comic freaking me out as a kid. It was my first exposure to fundamentalist Christianity, the rapture (described in the comic as the "Great Snatch") and the supposed end of times. I can't remember where I picked it up but I had fun reviewing it at: http://finkel.org/avi/revelation/index.html
I must pick up a vintage copy for my 7 year old son. It'll be right up his alley.

To TAM - page 2 of this comic gives the game away John wrote in revelations , things which must shortly come to pass, the book of revelations was for christians in the first and second century hence soon come to pass not soon come to pass in 2000 years. This rapture idea is the greatest pile ever. Its also the reason so many supposed christians support the american finanical support for Israel because Israel must be a united kingdom again what a crock, Gods kingdom is a spiritual one .But the funniest part of the commic is one of the signs was the USA would begins to loose its power man have they got a high and mighty view of themselves as though God cares about the USA more than Canada, Ireland, or outer Mongolia, its people with this high and mighty attitude are the real cause of most of the conflict in this world.

  3. To Tam - I assume you dont believe the bible itself is Gods word but do you have a view on who may have written the bible and did they have a specific purpose in writing it.I know these are somewhat leading questions but I would be interested in your answer.
    oh yeah the rapture is still a crock.
